JavaScript code disclosure… What’s on my site
I run the NoScript Firefox extension while browsing the internet. It prevents “untrusted” JavaScript code from running and doesn’t allow retardedly written websites like some MySpace user profiles to crash my browser session. Anyways, I saw Ryan Russel’s “Web of Trust,” and thought I should disclose what JavaScript I run on my website as well, for people who may be blocking it and not know what it is doing (and missing out on).
- Allow thelinuxdiaries.com
What this script is doing, is loading the Security-Bloggers Network badge in the left sidebar. I took the script from Feedburner and saved it to my server, allowing me to change the colors it used to match the rest of my theme. To view the script itself, click here.To see what the script renders and showing what it looks like when this is blocked by NoScript click here (gif): - Allow Feedburner.com
What this script does, is add Feedburner “FeedFlare” to each post. The FeedFlare consists of “Subscribe to this feed,” “Email this,” “Digg This!” and “Save to del.icio.us.”Here is what it looks like (gif) - Allow googlesyndication.com
This script adds Google AdSense to the end of the sidebar on the right. I don’t even know why I have it, I end up blocking it myself with Adblock, and I haven’t made more than a couple pennies from it. Your choice, do what you want with it… - Allow google-analytics.com
This allows me see demographics and other information on the readers (that’s you!) of this blog. It’s somewhat of a motivator to keep writing, because obviously you all come back and visit. It’s nice to see people from all over the world checking out my blog. If you’re going to allow one script, allow this one.:)
That’s all, if I add any other JavaScript to my website, I’ll let you all know.
