I think I might start using that CookieSafe and/or beef up my Firefox extensions (FireCAT, DeveloperToolbar...whatever I find useful to me). I've seen GoogleAnalytics come up in my NoScript all the time as well, and it's really subconsciously disturbing to see. Whatever happened to just parsing logs? :P I never do allow it, as I don't see what site functionality would be opened up to me as a user allowing it.

Google wants to "do no evil," but they've really had to play that game ever since going public (just like Yahoo who was cool until they went public). Now they have to play in that ugly game of the public companies needing to make money soonsoonsoon, and the world of marketing/ads/hits/content. Content is the one that is not inherently evil in my mind, but it certainly easily gets evil, especially combined with marketing and privacy. :\ Bah...all it takes is a new fresh company that understands simplicity, quickness, and relevent searching to dethrone Google's core page: the search box. Just like Google slipped in when Yahoo had to go evil...
