Yah, I've been mucking with nbe files in Excel when sed/awk scripts just won't cut it. I've ended up just setting up a local MySQL server and using <a href="http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/load-data.html" rel="nofollow">LOAD DATA INFILE statements</a> and using some Perl scripts my colleague hacked up.

One liners are cool.. and shell scripting should be a skill all security folks embrace and learn... as well as other tools...

nbe files can be imported (or cut and paste) into excel and then do a data->text to columns, the delimiter is the pipe symbol... and then sort to your hearts desire.. in most cases, it works fine.. there is one Nessus report that uses the pipe command as part of the return string, so that one gets messed up..

They also could be imported into Access, although for most of my tool analysis, Excel is very useful...
